Prevention and control of infections during the COVID-19 pandemic

In June 2020, based on suggestion/proposal of BulNoso Board, according to an order of the Minister of Health a working group including several experts of BulNoso (Assoc. Prof. Dr. N. Gatcheva, Assoc. Prof. Dr. R. Vatcheva, Prof. Dr. A. Kevorkyan, Dr. V. Voynova-Georgieva), Dr. K. Parmakova and Assoc. Prof. Dr. A. Kunchev from the MoH, Assist. Prof. M. Nikolova from NCIPD and our distinguished scientist epidemiologist Prof. Dr. W. Monev developed a Manual for prevention and control of COVID-19 in healthcare facilities.
The Manual is based on the updated WHO and ECDC recommendations, and National infection control standard instructions. In August, after being coordinated it was sent from the Ministry of Health to all the Regional Health Inspections in the country to be introduced to healthcare facilities aimed to provide support in their everyday practice in pandemic situation.
