Prophylactic vaccines against cervical cancer and their implementation in Bulgaria

The BulNoso Board led by its desire to be helpful to Bulgarian specialists of infection control and provoked by the growing anti-vaccination movement in the country, introduces a new topic : "Vaccines - the main tool for prevention and control of communicable diseases".

The BulNoso web site provides access to the Bulgarian version of the IFIC’s manual on Infection Control: “Basic Concepts” The intent of the manual is to provide a foundation of scientifically basic infection control principles and requirements. The translation of the ten most important chapters of this book was made possible according to the initiative and with the efforts of the experts of Bulgarian Association for Prevention and Infection Control [BulNoso]. WHO Global Campaign

SAVE LIVES: Clean Your Hands

'It's in your hands - prevent sepsis in health care'

WHO urges us to focus on the fight against sepsis in the context of hand hygiene and infection prevention and control (IPC) programmes. Hand hygiene is at the core of effective IPC to combat sepsis and the other types of HAIs, and campaigning each year on or around 5 May is one important part of improving behaviour towards IPC best practices. This year the campaign materials are all co-branded with ‘It’s in your hands – prevent sepsis in health care’ to demonstrate unity between IPC efforts , antimicrobial resistance and sepsis.
